Judy’s House in Harwich Port

I just visited a friend in HarwichPort who is not a professional decorator but definitely should be! Her choice of fabrics,art work and little details amount to a very warm,beautiful and welcoming home. She tends to find fabrics at Zimman’s and is constantly looking for items on sale-I love her creativity and old Yankee ingenuity. She has a great eye for putting it all together. She also is lucky enough to have inherited many beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork and has used them perfectly as well.

I finally got the chance to see the finished house I had decorated up in New Hampshire last year.It is on a beautiful lake-perfect setting for relaxing summers! We had a lot of fun picking out the fabrics and I think the client is delighted with the result-it is a very happy house and fun to spend time in,especially on beautiful summer days.

We had a lot of fun yesterday installing window treatments in a house on a lake that has been recently renovated. The Duralee and Thibaut fabrics are all fun and lovely together-they really reflect the personality of the client!

Let’s talk sum…

Let’s talk summer since we are coming to the end…..for the next few days I can show you some rooms I have done in beach houses and some ideas and/or things I have seen that I think are very different and of interest to you.

This first room is one I did several years ago. The clients wanted a window treatment that could take care of the tremendous amount of sun they get every afternoon as this is where they watch tv. They did not necessarily need anything for privacy. Interior shutters solved the problem and are easy to take care of-no mold or mildew as can happen so often with fabrics in a Cape house. They also give a room a very clean but finished look.Image
